
Contra - Demo

This is the second edition of my unnamed hack of Contra, modified with Red Falcon editor, still in beta but usable enough to redesign two levels. The second level was hacked to be very difficult. Enemy patterns are different for both wall enemies and Green Guys...

I didn't find any way to avoid the Boss Glitch that prevents addition of extra rooms yet, so the level still has 5 rooms to destroy, plus the Boss room...

Again, enemy AI was altered for a few enemies. The Jumping Guy jump in an irregular pattern, thanks to a few bytes of additional ASM created from scratch. Other tweaks include more hits for cores and cannons, and enemies attack more agressively. The Boss was also ASM hacked to make it shoot 2 types of projectiles, at random...

You start with 8 lives. You get the first extra life at 10,000 points, and all subsequent extra lives require 30,000 points...
